Two Idaho firefighters ambushed while answering a brush fire, an unseen gunman found dead on the mountain; the Senate plunges into an all-night amendment gauntlet to forge Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill” as a bow-tied Thom Tillis quietly bows out; and the Supreme Court unleashes a torrent—green-lighting parental opt-outs from LGBTQ lessons, gutting nationwide injunctions, slicing Medicaid funds to Planned Parenthood, and more—while pundits push a fresh Iran-strike “nothingburger” that Trump brands pure fiction. Add Bondi’s 2,700-gang-member roundup, Canada’s sudden retreat on its Big Tech tax, and a swirl of Capitol-Hill sound bites, and you’ve got a news cycle where every victory hides another twist—and every twist hints at battles still unseen.

A heartbreaking story out of Idaho…
Two firefighters were killed and a third was injured Sunday while responding to a brush fire in Coeur d’Alene.
According to the Kootenai County Sheriff, the crew came under attack as they arrived on the scene. Later that night, authorities discovered a deceased man on Canfield Mountain with a firearm nearby.
Investigators believe he started the fire—then opened fire on the firefighters when they responded.
A shelter-in-place order has since been lifted, but the community is left grieving—and searching for answers.

One Big Beautiful bill advanced in the Senate this weekend
The Senate kicks off a marathon voting session at 9 a.m. to work through President Trump’s sweeping agenda bill. Lawmakers can offer unlimited amendments before a final vote is held—so expect a long day.
Meanwhile, big political news over the weekend: North Carolina Senator Thom Tillis says he won’t run for reelection next year. Tillis was one of just two Republicans who voted against advancing Trump’s tax and spending cuts, citing concerns about Medicaid.
Trump’s reaction? On his social media site, he called the announcement “Great News!”

Big day at the Supreme Court Friday with a flurry of major rulings—here’s what you need to know:
In a huge win for parental rights, SCOTUS ruled 6–3 that parents can opt their kids out of LGBTQ+ lessons in school if it violates their religious beliefs. President Trump called it a “tremendous victory.”
But that’s not all…
  • The Court struck down nationwide injunctions—judges can’t block federal policies across the board anymore.
  • States can now cut off Medicaid funds to Planned Parenthood.
  • Texas can require age verification for porn websites to protect kids online.
  • They upheld ObamaCare’s preventive care mandate—so screenings and meds like PreP stay covered.
  • And they preserved funding for rural internet through the Universal Service Fund.
One big case—Louisiana’s redistricting—was punted to the next term.
Major moves. And the term’s not done yet. Stay tuned.

Notables

They’re pushing the hoax again..
A new narrative is emerging on last week’s U.S. strikes against Iran…
According to the head of the U.N.’s nuclear watchdog, Rafael Grossi, Iran could resume enriching uranium within months—suggesting the strikes didn’t deal a knockout blow to their nuclear program.
His comments, made on CBS Sunday, line up with early assessments from the Pentagon’s Defense Intelligence Agency—leaked to CNN—that the core of Iran’s program remains intact.
President Trump isn’t buying it. He blasted the CNN report as “fake news,” and insists the U.S. strikes set Iran’s nuclear ambitions back by decades.
