1. US-Iran Talks

Vice President JD Vance has completed the first round of direct U.S.-Iran talks in Switzerland.

Negotiators from the US and Iran have agreed to a 60-day roadmap to reach a peace agreement.

Iran agreed to advance coordination on nuclear issues, sanctions, and enforcement of their recent memorandum of understanding, setting a 60-day roadmap for more technical negotiations. Talks continue despite tensions.

2. UK PM Resigns

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has resigned.

In a major political shake-up, Starmer announced today he is stepping down as Labour leader and PM after less than two years in office, triggering a leadership contest likely won by frontrunner Andy Burnham.

3. Reflecting Pool Arrests

President Trump says U.S. Park Police have made multiple arrests for vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in Washington, D.C. The pool, recently renovated for more than $14 million with a new blue liner, has suffered algae blooms and peeling paint. Trump blames saboteurs for pouring chemicals and damaging the site, vowing years in jail for such crimes and immediate repairs.

Among those arrested is 67-year-old former Olympic canoeist David Hearn of Bethesda, Maryland. He faces a misdemeanor charge of destroying government property after touching a piece of already-peeling paint while cycling by the pool. Hearn denies any vandalism.
