He Attacked Border Agents Hours After Dems Said Their Voters Want ‘Blood’
27‑year‑old Michigan resident Ryan Louis Mosqueda—who had been reported missing from Weslaco, Texas, earlier that day—drove a white, Michigan‑plated sedan to the U.S. Border Patrol annex near McAllen International Airport. Wearing tactical gear and armed with a rifle, he opened fire on agents and their building.
Border Patrol agents and McAllen police returned fire, killing him before he could enter.
The shootout injured three individuals, including one officer struck in the knee; all are expected to recover. Authorities found additional firearms, ammunition, backpacks, and the phrase “Cordis Die” spray‑painted on his car—a reference to a fictional militant group from a video game. While the FBI leads the investigation into his motive, no further threat or accomplices have been identified.
